HEALTH & SAFETY AT GL PROFILES
We employ an outside company ‘Wirehouse’ to conduct audits and provide up to date health and safety guidance. We have a health and safety and environmental policy.
When buying new machinery we ensure it has the most up to date health and safety features. CNC Punch and Krasser De-coiler are fully automated to remove the risk of injuries.

The GL Profiles Team
Ray Smith
Ray Smith is a founding figure of GL Profiles, with over 40 years in metal manufacturing. He played a leading role in the company’s inception in 1994, shaping its early direction. Ray developed our renowned quick turnaround times whilst never compromising when it comes to quality and later became the sole shareholder. He introduced structured workshop systems, modern machinery, and streamlined production processes. He has seen GL Profiles through ups and downs but has safeguarded the company through prioritising a strong supply chain and staff retention. Since taking a step back from a leadership role he now has more time to enjoy his interests such as travel, good food, and making memories with his wife Anna and three grandchildren.
Michael Smith
Michael Smith is the Managing Director of GL Profiles, following in his father Ray’s footsteps. With a degree in Architectural Technology, he combines technical expertise with hands-on experience across all GL Profiles machinery. A skilled fabrication specialist, Michael drives innovation and efficiency while planning for the company’s future growth. Michael has a keen interest in technology and is always exploring ways to expand GL Profiles for the next generation, he brings both vision and practical know-how to the role. Outside the office, Michael’s happiest in Norfolk with his wife Sophie, their daughter Olivia, and not to forget Bella the dog, enjoying every moment together as a family.
Elsa-Maria Gregory
Elsa-Maria is GL Profiles’ Operations Director, overseeing operations, compliance, and HR. Starting after university in what was meant to be a temporary role, and has guided GL Profiles through digital transformation while keeping a focus on customer relationships for 14 years. A graduate of Liverpool Hope University and NEBOSH-qualified in General Safety, she applies her skills to enhance operations. Outside of work she is passionate about travel and has volunteered and worked around the world; Now happily married to David for 10 years and mum to Alfie and Lorenzo, the whole family share a love of the outdoors and holidays. Sister to Managing Director Michael and daughter of founder Ray, she embodies the spirit of a family-run business while balancing full-time work with family life
